66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. The first full vintage under the watchful eye of Jean-Michel Laporte (ex-Conseillante). He added around 10% more new oak because the natural extract of the vintage was so impressive. This has a lovely mix of blackberry, dark cherry and damson fruit. Very cool and crisp. Then comes a beautifully creamy mid-palate - really suave, not a sharp edge in sight. It flows steadily toward a long, mouthwatering finish. Laporte's magic is certainly working here. This is a really good Talbot showing a lot of class. One of our favourite Saint Julien in 2018.
