Rich aromas of Christmas cake fruits, espresso, cocoa and sweet spices. The palate is equally rich, with mouth-filling texture, cherry fruits and chocolate. A softness to the finish that masks the pretty robust tannins. This region’s wines found fame in 289 BC, when Julius Caesar was supposed to have favoured them. Hand-picked grapes in 14 kg crates undergo careful selection and destalking. Fermented in stainless steel vats for 14 days at 25°C with regular mixing. Soft pressed, followed by malolactic fermentation. Matured for 12 months in 35 hl barrels
