The Chianti Rufina Riserva “Nipozzano Vecchie Viti” by Frescobaldi is a wine that carries forward the ancient family tradition of reserving a special collection for each new family member. It is made from the oldest vines of the Nipozzano Castle, which are about 40 years old and located in a stunning landscape. The wine offers a rich aromatic complexity and fruitiness that is also evident on the palate, where the tannic structure is finely balanced, fitting well within the overall elegance of the label. The Riserva “Nipozzano Vecchie Viti” is a Chianti Rufina that features Sangiovese as the main grape variety, along with small percentages of Malvasia Nera, Colorino, and Canaiolo. The must obtained from the gentle pressing of the grapes ferments in stainless steel containers, and the wine is then transferred to oak barrels for a final aging period of 24 months. After this period, the Riserva is bottled and matures in glass for 3 months before being released to the market. This wine has a deep ruby red color, with spicy notes of pepper and cinnamon, and a finish of small red fruits. It is full - bodied and intense, with a rich flavor and good persistence.
