Are You Game? is a fun and bright Pinot Noir with exciting, distinctive aromas of vibrant red cherry, clove and crushed mint leaf. These vivid aromas become more subtle and savoury in the mouth, with leather, rising bread dough and baking spices. Fresh, balanced and with gentle, nicely filled-out texture, this is a lovely wine with good sustain on the finish. Great with duck.
The wine was fermented in sweep arm fermenters between 25°C to 28°C in stainless steel tanks to maximise flavour and colour, preserving primary fruit flavours. Matured using new French oak with a small component in old French oak.
With a dash of Sangiovese (3%), it blushes bright ruby red, offering aromas of cherry, red plum, earthy notes, and oak. The palate is fresh with rich red fruits, enhanced by Sangiovese’s intense red fruit aromas and texture, perfect for game food like wild rabbit ragout.
Fowles Wine, located in Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria, crafts cool-climate wines in a dramatic granite landscape. Their energetic team pioneers innovative blends, winning prestigious awards and named a "Winery to Watch" by *Wine Spectator*.
Specifications: Made from Pinot Noir (predominantly from Strathbogie Billi’s vineyard), crushed and fermented with Premier Cru yeast. Matured 6 months in stainless steel and French oak, blended with 6% Shiraz for complex dark fruit and savoury spice.
Nose: Ripe strawberry, forest berries, subtle spice, earthy rhubarb.
Palate: Bright strawberries, red plum, tart cherry, rhubarb, cardamom; soft, silky tannins.
