d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and aromatic, just crying out for a sunny afternoon. The nose is full of flowers, passion-fruit, and exotic tropical fruit like guava, mangoes, and lychees. The palate is lively with zippy acid giving raciness amongst the citrus and peaches. Finishing crisp, long, and lingering. Since 1912, the Osborn family have tended vineyards in the McLaren Vale, South Australia. The grapes used in d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc are mostly from very old bush vines and underwent gentle crushing, traditional open tank fermentation, basket pressing and oak maturation prior to bottling. It is rumoured that the inventor of the Stump Jump plough, which enabled a ploughshare to jump over tree roots, had poor eyesight and required regular tests to ensure he could still operate machinery. If one is able to hold the bottle at arm's length and still read the front label, make sure to pour another glass.
