Alli® (orlistat 60 mg) is an over-the-counter weight-loss aid for overweight adults (BMI ≥ 28) aged 18 and over. Taken three times daily with each main meal containing fat, Alli® helps block the absorption of about a quarter of the fat you eat. That undigested fat passes naturally through your system, assisting your weight-loss efforts when combined with a lower-fat, reduced-calorie meal plan. To minimise digestive side effects, follow a lower-fat diet and take a daily multivitamin at bedtime.
Ingredients
Each hard capsule contains 60 mg orlistat. Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, povidone, magnesium stearate, gelatin capsule shell.
Product Warnings
Do not exceed the stated dose. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Not for use in individuals under 18 years, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use if you are taking ciclosporin, warfarin (or other anticoagulants), or if you have chronic malabsorption syndrome or cholestasis. Consult your doctor before use if you have heart rhythm problems (amiodarone), diabetes, epilepsy, kidney disease, thyroid disorders (levothyroxine), HIV treatment or psychiatric medications. Exercise caution if taking antihypertensive or cholesterol-lowering medicines. Undigested fat may cause changes to bowel movements—follow a lower-fat diet to help manage these effects.
