Bernard Maillard Sauvignon Gris, Loire 750ml : This domaine is located within the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation, 25 km south of Nantes and 7km from the town of Clisson. There is no Château and no manor, just a simple domaine of 19 hectares, run by individuals who have worked there for over four generations. A light and fresh wine made from the Sauvignon Gris grape, which is a close relation to Sauvignon Blanc but a little softer with slightly lighter acidity. Lovely apple and floral aromas on the nose; on the palate, it is soft with lots of fruit and a touch of gooseberry in the background. A delicate wine to accompany French cuisine or light dishes.
